BASILICA OF BOM JESUS CHURCH

The Basilica of Bom Jesus or Borea Jezuchi Bajilika is located in Goa, India, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[1][2] The basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. The church is located in Old Goa, which was the capital of Goa in the early days of Portuguese rules. The body of Francis Xavier was first taken to Portuguese Malacca and two years later shipped back to Goa. It is said that the saint's body was as fresh as the day it was buried. The remains of the saint still attract a huge number of tourists from all over the world, especially during the public viewing of his body every ten years. The saint is said to have miraculous powers of healing.

CABO DE RAMA FORT

The popular Goan beach fort Cabo de Rama is named after Lord Rama. Also known as Cape Rama Fort, this ancient fortress is located in the Canacona district of Goa,just 20kms from PGH. This is one of the oldest forts in Goa, build here before the arrival of the Portuguese. With the historic significance related with its name, Cabo de Rama has a mythological legend. Lord Rama accompanied by his wife Sita took refuge here during his exile from Ayodhya for 14 years. Cabo De Rama beach is made up of a few small beach coves and one larger one. There is currently only one accommodation option in Cabo De Rama and it at the boutique end of the scale which is fitting for such a visually dramatic location.

PALOLEM BEACH

Palolem Beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself.[3] It is about one mile (approximately 1.61 km) long and is crescent-shaped; one can view the entire beach from either end. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the beach, making it safe for average swimmers, and the currents are not fast. The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport which is about 67 km away. The nearest railway station is Canacona railway station which can be reached from Madgoan junction railway station in just 30 mins. There are bus services at a regular interval of 30 mins from the beach to the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Bus Depot in Margao.

AGONDA BEACH

Agonda is a three-kilometer long, beautiful cove of white sand, secluded in the palms. Also known as the silent beach, Agonda is the undiscovered paradise of Goa. Agonda Beach is rated No 2 by Tripadvisor. The Agonda village is surrounded by a lush green cover of about 120 acres of forest land. A sleepy, village life is easily tangible once you enter the Agonda village. The Agonda village lives it life at a much easier and sedate pace as compared to the other beach front villages nearby. Villagers working in the emerald green paddy fields, fishermen drying their catch and a passing whiff of the Goan 'Fenny', is what you feel and experience when in Agonda.

COTIGAO WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Cotigao, Goa's fourth and the second largest wild-life sanctuary initially admeasuring 105 sq kms, was established in 1968 to protect a remote and vulnerable deciduous forest on the Goa-Karnataka border. However later the area was re-notified in 1993 and limited to 86 sq kms. The sanctuary is known for its dense forest of tall trees, some of which reach 30 metres in height. The forest supports moist deciduous trees, semi-evergreen trees, and evergreen trees. A special feature of the sanctuary is a treetop watchtower positioned 25 metres above a watering hole where animals go to drink. The best times to visit the watchtower are dawn and dusk when animals are most likely to be visiting.

MAJORDA BEACH

One of the prettiest beaches of Goa is Majorda that sits on a wide 25 km stretch of sand, spread with roofed parasols and lapped by the warm Arabian Sea. On the northern side of the beach, there are plenty of beach shacks and water sports activities. This place is quite calm where sun-seekers can stretch out under the palm trees and view the past of odd sacred cow trundle. The seashore offers complete satisfaction to the tourists in its idyllic and pleasant ambience. The beautiful view of azure water and golden sands spellbind every sightseer. Located 5 km from the Colva beach, Majorda has turquoise water, blue sky, soft sand, lush greenery and swaying palms that draw visitors from all over the world.

BIG FOOT

The Ancestral Big Foot is situated in the small village of Loutolim which is about 10 km from Margao and 25 km from Panaji. The musuem is also known as big foot. It is privately run by an artist called Maendra Jocelino Araujo Alvares. The open-air museum recreates Goan rural life as it was a hundred years ago. At Ancestral Goa there are a number of places to visit such as an art gallery where one can see work done by local children and artists of State and National fame. There is a handicraft centre where one can get some locally made Goan artificats, Big Foot dance floor, Big Foot restaurant, a cross, a spring known as Boca da Vaca, a bird habitat, a spice yard, rubber plantations and lots more.
